jsfunction really outdid herself himself again! (XD sorry about that!) I didn't think that the round could get anymore unique and creative, but she came up with something so mind-blowing!
For whatever reason, I felt like doing the 2009 BBC adaptation of Emma. I had thought about doing KPop idols or KDramas, but I guess I was feeling period drama more, lol!
The x axis is hue. I didn't want go seven across, so I combined colors to make the x axis five across instead. The y axis is vertical focus which was actually quite challenging for both the simple and the complex. I'm so used to working in the center (horizontally and vertically) in most of my icons (except maybe negative space). For my z axis, I did simple versus complex. The first set is simple. I tried to use few textures and use the original image as much as possible. The second set is complex. I used a ton of textures, yay!!!! Some icons might not look as complex (like #23 ), but I did use different textures to color the different parts.

I originally had planned to do something different for the charts, but I realized that I was going to have difficulty trying to do complex with the texture axis. orz.
So here is what I started out with before I changed my charts, lol! This was going to be the simple chart with the x axis being the vibrance (black and white, muted, pastel, vibrant, and neon) and the y axis being texture-heaviness (row 1 being lightest and row 3 being heaviest).
A few more alts!

I really enjoyed working with the magenta-pink hues. They just kind of came together, lol! And I was feeling very inspired as I was searching for textures and inspiration! ^^
I'm glad you liked 30! After I picked the cap I wanted, I came across the texture I used for the right side and knew I wanted to try to add another cap on the left side to show Emma's thoughts.

The crops are stunning, the colors are crazy and I love everything!
My favs: 1 (THAT crop!), 5 (the over the top saturation is perfect!), 12 (I adore the spot of red and the muted greens), 19 (looks like a Klimt painting!), 23 (the blue coloring and the composition are gorgeous), 27 (love the purple coloring and the composition), 30 (STUNNING), alt12 (wow, the muted coloring is perfect!).

I always enjoy reading your comments whether it's for me or someone else, lol! ♡ ~('▽^人)
The funny thing about Emma is that there aren't many shots useful for top vertical focus, so any of them that used negative space required extending the bottom of the cap! ^^
I'm glad you liked 5. I was kind of experimenting with unnatural coloring, so I'm soo glad it turned out well!
Lol, 19 does look like a Klimt painting! XD I definitely wasn't even thinking of his work when I did it! XD
27 is definitely one of my favorites. How can you not like purple? ^^
It amuses me that so many people liked 30 because it was relatively simple to make! The only hard part was cutting Emma out and painting the different parts.
Alt 12 was also one of my personal favorites. I feel like it really resonated the perfect muted yet soft tones.
♡ ~('▽^人) Thanks again for the lovely comments!

It is amazing what you did with the theme. I love the colors and compositions. My favorites are 23 and 29.

I almost was going to do seven for color but decided that I would end up with too many plus I wasn't sure if I would be able to make both sets.

Look I feel I need to say something about the fact that this is way more than the 4-21 icons allowed for this round, but I think I'll actually allow this, because I've allowed makers to make two separate normal-sized entries and these can be looked at as two separate sets in one post, which would be no different from that precedent. Which kind of raises the question if you'd like to enter the alternative set (texture-heaviness vs Vibrance) as well? I don't see why it couldn't be in the voting too, since it's complete and fulfills the challenge. Anyway, just thought I'd explain my logic in case someone else wonders why this is allowed, I'll need to come up with more exact ruling on the icon amount.
Anyway, to the icons! :>
In the simple set I absolutely adore 12 - it has a lovely painting-like look, the coloring is super lovely, love the extreme far crop and overall it just looks like something out of a storybook. The glossy negative space on 11 is great and I love the crops in 1 & 4 (this is why your y axis was a great choice, intuitively these would go both go in the center but they look so great in the unexpected top placement!). The lighting and coloring in 7 is gorgeous and I also love the matte look on 13.
In the complex side of things I'm so in love with 19!! The colors are so clear and bright and the crop is evocative and different.
23 is gorgeous, love the bright blues and the text use on the background. The bottom row has many awesome icons, especially 27 (gorgeously eyecatching coloring), 29 (the blending!) and 30 (perfect coloring and compostion).
The third table is great too, I especially love the coloring on 13 and the fun neon look in 15. The painty pastelly look on 3 is all kinds of awesome (the alt for this is amazing as well), and the colorings on 9 and 10 are spectacular.
Thanks so much for entering!

Yeah, I knew it was over the amount, so I was expecting that. I've never done hues before and got a little carried away, lol! But, thanks for allowing it! Once I got started, I couldn't stop! This round was seriously inspirational and challenging!
Yes, I'd love to enter my alternate set if that's okay! It was a sort of a flop for the extra hard mode. Trying to do complex mode and go from no texture to a lot of textures didn't seem to make sense together. XD
Vertical focus was definitely an interesting challenge since it wasn't something I usually focused on (no pun intended, lol!), but I tried to use a variety of ways in each type. ^^
Thanks again for your lovely comments! ♡ ~('▽^人) I always appreciate the detail you give! ^^

I love your vertical axes, it's really fun and makes for great compositions: some favorites are 2, 6, 12, 13, 17 and 30! Your texture work in the complex set is so so so gorgeous! My favorites are 17, 18, 21, 23, 27 and 28. The blending in especially 29 looks really great too and I love that it is a bit subtle.

I'm glad you enjoyed them!
Lol, I'm a bit partial to the complex myself! ^^ I had a lot of fun picking out textures and trying out different compositions!

My favorites are: 23 (lovely composition and shade of blue), 27 (nice composition and color combination), 30 (nice tones and composition) :)
