I admit that I wasn't expecting this one to win at all! The icon was relatively simple to make once I figured out how I wanted to do the composition. I think the only hard part was using the ellipse tool to get the perfect circle so I could use the path to add the text!

Here are the top 15 after my first place icon. (So many ties, lol!)


This year I was definitely surprised with the icons that made the top 10 to 15 (result of so many ties)! The White Witch icons, the muted IU icon, and the muted pink Taeyeon icon I wasn't so surprised about about, but, honestly, I'm really surprised that people liked the Elizabeth silhouette one and the Emma and Mr. Knightley one. I don't hate them, but I didn't quite like how they turned out. T-T And the one of Saruman...I liked it when I made it, but, now looking back, I'm not so sure. >.< The second Taeyeon one was kind of meh, too. I liked how the coloring turned out, but it seemed so bland, so I added a texture. I guess I'm my own worst critic...just kidding! ^^

And here some of my own personal favorites in no particular order. I think I've really improved in composition and textwork! ^^

Not a maker. That said, what I like best about your winning icon is how classical and balanced it is, in composition, coloring, and texture. I love the readability of the text, and what it says: A dream is a wish your heart makes.

It's perfect. I love it.
