A small batch of icons for
somein30. Extra hard mode, of course, lol! ^^
Except I failed to realize that the deadline passed. orz
Oh, well!
I decided to do some icons from W since I've already watched the drama (and happened to have them on my computer). ^^
Episode 1: #03 Favorite interaction: Yeon-joo is scared because her boss has called her a bunch of times. She thinks she about to get in big trouble for something. However, he just wanted to ask if her dad wrote W, a currently trending webtoon. To Yeon-joo's surprise, her boss is also a huge fan of Kang Cheol, the main character of the webtoon.
Episode 2: #06 Arc relevance: After reading the webtoon, Yeon-joo realizes that Kang Cheol is about to get poisoned. She gets pulled back into the webtoon and is able to stop the nurse from administering potassium in Kang Cheol's IV. This is the point of the drama where Kang Cheol first meets Yeon-joo, who had saved his life previously. He knew that she would eventually come back and tells her that she is the key to his life (which turns out to be true as later episodes will explain).
Episode 3: #08 Most known for: I chose to icon a moment toward the end of the episode because it was the most memorable part of the episode. Kang Cheol is interrogating Yeon-joo via gunpoint, trying to figure out who she is and where she came from. Yeon-joo, for obvious reasons, does not want to reveal anything. Kang Cheol shoots Yeon-joo. However, Yeon-joo is not wounded. Rather, her bathrobe has two holes from the bullet's entry and exit. The fact that Yeon-joo is not wounded confirms her special nature (being a real person from the real world as well as a special character in the webtoon).
Episode 4: #04 Favorite quote: Yeon-joo is sitting in front of a mirror wearing an expensive dress that Kang Cheol bought for her. She has just talked with Kang Cheol who told her that she's an intriguing woman. She wonders aloud, "W is an action-hero story. Why does it keep acting like a romance story?" I thought about choosing a quote from when Yeon-joo finally tells Kang Cheol that he's a main character of a webtoon and doing a simple icon with text at the top, but I thought it would be a little more fun and light-hearted to do an animated icon with the W logo glitching (kind of like it does in the drama).
Episode 5: #01 MVP character: Poor Kang Cheol goes through a lot in this episode. He now knows that he's a character in a webtoon. He manages to go through a portal into Yeon-joo's world. He finds the webtoon in manhwa form and reads all the volumes. He goes to the author's house and forces the author (Oh Seong-moo) to tell him the truth. Seong-moo explains the background of the webtoon. Then Kang Cheol emotionally distraught, begs Seong-moo to draw the murderer so that the webtoon can have a happy ending.
Episode 6: #10 Random scene (42:49): Yeon-joo's boss sets her up on a blind date. She begrudgingly agrees and goes with him to meet the blind date. When she realizes that the guy is a weird nerd (who has bizarre fashion sense), she's like "no thank you!" and tries to escape ASAP (which she does, but into the webtoon, lol).
Episode 7: #07 Character development: Yeon-joo finally blurts out that she loves Kang Cheol. ^^
Episode 8: #05 Plot: Kang Cheol saves Yeon-joo from prison and marries her. He's happy and gives up on his revenge. However, now that he has a new family member, the murder sets his eyes on Yeon-joo as his new victim.
