2025 Icon Progression Post

☙ MAY 2025

» First post of the year! Better late then never, right? I had been mostly doing tutorial, and work was super crazy, so I didn't make anything until May. » This batch was pretty eclectic since it was aretro_icontest challenge pulled from the All Thing Random round from somein30. » I did a lot of experimentation for this round as far as techniques go. Went for more of the "shiny" coloring style I started out with but combined it with the matte coloring for a softer more glowy look for several of the icons.

☙ JULY 2025

» 2nd post of the year! » This post was different because I chose Kuraki Mai (my favorite JPop singer) although I had a bit of hard time finding good pics! » I tried making a "blinkie" icon for the first time. I know this was a thing on LJ waaay before I started iconning, and I had always wanted to give it a try. Turned out pretty well, I think!

☙ DECEMBER 2025 #1

» Remakes! » This was a post of all of my remakes from the remake challenge from bestof_icons. » I think I did pretty well trying to make them different from the original icons. I really tried to be more creative with my coloring style and continued developing my shiny matte coloring.

» Just a few miscellaneous icons. » Mostly icons of Mai and snow gif icons. » I was really happy with the close up of Mai. I think the hair coloring is probably one of my best

» A set for the Icon Quest round at retro_icontest! » Some Narnia icons and one quote gif icons. » Experimented a bit with shiny coloring and with matte/paint-y coloring separately. Also played around with text a bit.

☙ END 2025

I definitely didn't make very many icons in 2025. I made more icons during COVID-19 when I rejoined the icon community and only made icons for the last 4-5 months. My goal for 2026 is make more icons that I'm happy with. I also want to expand my horizons and be more creative with my coloring and composition (as usual, lol).

Aww!I can understand not being able to make too many icons. I feel like we all just had more time in the previous years, or what?!
